It is not necessary to go thru the process of death, as Jesus did, to attain the Resurrection and the Ascension. Jesus did so to demonstrate to mankind that it is possible to overcome death or who would have believed it was possible. Jesus could have simply Ascended up into Heaven in His physical body without tasting death therefore others who follow the Ascended Masters can also not taste of death as did some of Jesus' disciples.
