19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21 Bible, King James Version

CHAPTER 111.

14Then to the people Jesus said, Take heed, and covet not. The wealth of men does not consist in what they seem to have—in lands, in silver and in gold. 15These things are only borrowed wealth...  17The wealth of soul lies in the purity of life, and in the wisdom that descends from heaven. 24You men of Galilee, lay not up treasures in the vaults of earth; accumulated wealth will blight your soul. 25God does not give men wealth to hoard away in secret vaults. Men are but stewards of God’s wealth, and they must use it for the common good. 26To every steward who is true to self, to other men, to every thing that is, the Lord will say, Well done.

Many of mankind spend their lives accumulating wealth with little or no thought given to the afterlife so they enjoy a comfortable life but when they pass over to the Spirit World they have nothing. We don't need to live in poverty like a monk however we do need to live a spiritual life which prepares us for Heaven where we can enjoy it's Real Treasures. Our good karma created by our good deeds etc in life after life is stored in Heaven and can be released in a particular lifetime. In this physical world money provides us with what we need however in Heaven this is worthless. The golden coin of Heaven is Divine Love which is why Saint Paul teaches: 1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. CHAPTER 33.

21And Jesus said… 23That in the heart the richest gems abound; that he who wills may open up the door and find them all. 24And then the people said, Make known to us the way that we may find the wealth that lies within the heart. 25And Jesus opened up the way…
