19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, -Galatians 5:19-20 King James Version (KJV)

Variance in biblical terms conveys disagreement, dissension, or quarreling. The Greek word often translated as variance is eris, meaning "strife" or "contention." It represents a state of conflict that disrupts relationships, communities, and spiritual harmony. Variance is frequently associated with selfish desires, envy, or ambition that oppose the virtues of the Spirit, such as love, peace, and patience.
