Through the regular practice of meditation we can learn to feel the Divine Love of God in our Heart center, still the mind and our feelings so we feel the Peace of God, see visions and even journey to the Inner Worlds while still living in a physical body, talk to God face to face, become One with God, etc, etc.

According to the Eckankar Master Paul Twitchell in his book 'The Key to Secret Worlds' (pp 29-30) "The top of the head is the point at which the human self merges with Spirit. Those wishing to be initiated into the Supreme Consciousness must become as little children. This means that the opening must remain at the top of the head, like the soft spot of a baby. This is symbolized as the 'Narrow Way.' This was the name given to the small but significant and closely guarded door where the Spirit body comes and goes from the physical self. All the Adepts [or Masters] have known this truth, but it has been lost over the years since the Magi [the wise men from the east who brought gifts at Jesus' birth] or the Essenes used it to open the way for the neophytes to gain the glorious kingdom of God.'

The top figure in the Chart represents the "Mighty I AM Presence" and the middle figure represents the Higher Mental Body.

T. Lobsang Rampa teaches in his book 'Chapters of Life' concerning the different stages of Meditation: "The second stage of meditation is that which brings the physical body in rapport with the Overself... Before one can meditate to this and higher standards, it is essential that one has a pure and lust-free life... The fourth stage of meditation takes us by way of the Silver Cord up to our Overself, and then by way of the Golden Cord of our Overself into the presence of that Great Entity which, for want of a better term down here, we call 'God.' (p150-151) He also teaches: "At last the fully evolved entity merges with the Overself." ('Feeding the Flame' p133)

Beloved Jesus teaches us: "Just in a great relaxed quiet, you sit still and just love the "Mighty I AM Presence" without asking It for anything, without remembering your mistakes or your problems. Just take a little time once in awhile, and I mean several times a day! I do not mean once in awhile in a week or month, I mean several times a day to have a few moments just to be still and enjoy loving your "Presence" and enjoying the Feeling of Love which your "Presence" will so gratefully release around you. I want you to feel your Love to the "Mighty I AM Presence" draw back into your beings and worlds a Peace and an Ease and a Relaxation which you have never before known in this embodiment, because in the Inner quiet of the "Mighty I AM Presence" It can show you the full Divine Plan, every detail of it long in advance of anything you might need to know at the present time. You do not know what your "Presence" will release to you, when you give It enough time and attention in that quiet Love which enables It to show you Itself and that which It wishes you to accomplish."(The Voice of the I AM, 1972 April p16)

If we want to know God in this life or in the next the first basic requirement is to be still. First still the physical body which is usually the first practice of meditation. Second still the emotions and the mind so we can prepare to meet God face to face who dwells beyond the human state of consciousness.

The Ascended Masters teach: "When you get very still and the energy becomes perfectly quiet in your feeling world for sometime, then you automatically begin to see thru the veil -between your outer intellectual consciousness and your "I AM Presence," or into the Ascended Masters Octave. That is why, precious ones, if you want to see your Presence, you must acquire this stillness first." (The Voice of the I AM, September 1946 p14)

Beloved Mighty Mercury teaches us: "The average person does not know how to let go of thinking. The average person does not know how to still the mental body, and that is what you need if you are to receive this Greater Light... Most people keep the blessed mental body so busy thinking... that... it... never becomes perfectly still. It approximates it sometimes in sleep." (The Voice of the I AM, 1973 March p13-14)

"Beloved Children of Earth, you stand upon the Threshold of the Ages. [Golden Age] ...The cycle changes and we enter a New Dispensation... In this New Order the discipline for the neophyte [a new convert] will be the focusing and the maintaining of his attention entirely upon the three highest centers [chakras] of the body, and he will do all his work at these points. Only the centers in the heart, throat, and head will receive conscious consideration and attention. The entire effort of the aspirant will be to hold his attention upon these, for only by looking away from the lower centers will he ever be able to rise out of misery and limitation. The center at the top of the head is the highest focus in the human body, and there the Silver Cord of Liquid White Light from the Great Source of Creation enters. When the attention of the mind is held fast upon this, the Door of the Soul is opened and the Threefold Activity of the Pure White Light encircles the waist just below the solar plexus, cutting off forever the destructive activities of the animal nature in man. This permits his soul to leap forth into its Complete Divine Activity, united once more with the Perfection of Its Source, and Eternally thereafter Master of all human creation - which means the discords of earth. Sincere students should meditate frequently upon the Perfect Action of the Golden Light within the head, for It will illumine and teach the outer mind all good things. This is the Light of the God Within. One should feel It filling his entire consciousness, his body and world. This is the 'Light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world,' and there is no human being in existence who has not some of this Light within him..." -Beloved Master Lanto ('Unveiled Mysteries' by Godfre Ray King, p255-256)

CHAPTER 8.

Elihu’s lessons to Jesus' mother in Egypt

1Again Elihu met his pupils in the sacred grove and said,
5There are two selfs; the higher and the lower self.
6The higher self is human spirit clothed with soul, made in the form of God.
7The lower self, the carnal self, the body of desires, is a reflexion of the higher self, distorted by the murky ethers of the flesh.
8The lower self is an illusion, and will pass away; the higher self is God in man, and will not pass away.
9The higher self is the embodiment of truth; the lower self is truth reversed, and so is falsehood manifest.
10The higher self is justice, mercy, love and right; the lower self is what the higher self is not.
11The lower self breeds hatred, slander, lewdness, murders, theft, and everything that harms; the higher self is mother of the virtues and the harmonies of life.
12The lower self is rich in promises, but poor in blessedness and peace; it offers pleasure, joy and satisfying gains; but gives unrest and misery and death.
13It gives men apples that are lovely to the eye and pleasant to the smell; their cores are full of bitterness and gall.
14If you would ask me what to study I would say, yourselfs; and when you well had studied them, and then would ask me what to study next, I would reply, yourselfs.
15He who knows well his lower self, knows the illusions of the world, knows of the things that pass away; and he who knows his higher self, knows God; knows well the things that cannot pass away.
16Thrice blessed is the man who has made purity and love his very own; he has been ransomed from the perils of the lower self and is himself his higher self.

Kirpal Singh teaches on this subject: "The secret of success both here and hereafter lies in attuning the 'self' within the Overself or the Sound Current which is the be-all and end-all of all existence." ('The Mystery of Death' p47-48)

CHAPTER 33.

8 And Jesus said... 10 ...just open up the windows of your hearts, and, like a flood of light, a heaven will come and bring a boundless joy...

SECTION VIII

Life and Works of Jesus in Persia

Chapter 40

Jesus teaches the magians. Explains the Silence and how to enter it...

1. Now, in the early morning Jesus came again to teach and heal. A light not comprehended shown about, as though some mighty spirit overshadowed him.
2. A magus noted this and asked him privately to tell from whence his wisdom came, and what the meaning of the light.
3. And Jesus said, There is a Silence where the soul may meet its God, and there the fount of wisdom is, and all who enter are immersed in light, and filled with wisdom, love and power.
4. The magus said, Tell me about this Silence and this light, that I may go and there abide.
5. And Jesus said, The Silence is not circumscribed; is not a place closed in with wall, or rocky steeps, nor guarded by the sword of man.
6. Men carry with them all the time the secret place where they might meet their God.
7. It matters not where men abide, on mountain top, in deepest vale, in marts of trade, or in the quiet home; they may at once, at any time, fling wide the door, and find the Silence, find the house of God; it is within the soul.

8. One may not be so much disturbed by noise of business, and the words and thoughts of men if he goes all alone into the valley or the mountain pass.
9. And when life's heavy load is pressing hard, it is far better to go out and seek a quiet place to pray and meditate.

10. The Silence is the kingdom of the soul which is not seen by human eyes.
11. When in the Silence, phantom forms may flit before the mind; but they are all subservient to the will; the master soul may speak and they are gone.
12. If you would find this Silence of the soul you must yourself prepare the way. None but the pure in heart may enter here.
13. And you must lay aside all tenseness of the mind, all business cares, all fears, all doubts and troubled thoughts.
14. Your human will must be absorbed by the divine; then you will come into a consciousness of holiness.
15. You are in the Holy Place, and you will see upon a living shrine the candle of the Lord aflame.
16. And when you see it burning there, look deep into the temple of your brain, and you will see it all aglow.
17. In every part, from head to foot, are candles all in place, just waiting to be lighted by the flaming torch of love.
18. And when you see the candles all aflame, just look, and you will see, with eyes of soul, the waters of the fount of wisdom rushing on; and you may drink, and there abide.
19. And then the curtains part, and you are in the Holiest of All, where rests the Arc of God, whose covering is the Mercy Seat.
20. Fear not to lift the sacred board; the Tables of the Law are in the Ark concealed.
21. Take them and read them well; for they contain all precepts and commands that men will ever need.
22. And in the Ark, the magic wand of prophecy [Moses' rod?] lies waiting for your hand; it is the key to all the hidden meanings of the present, future, past.
23. And then, behold, the manna there, the hidden bread of life; and he who eats shall never die.
24. The cherubim have guarded well for every soul this treasure box, and whosoever will enter in and find his own.
25. Now Kaspar heard the Hebrew master speak and he exclaimed, Behold, the wisdom of the gods has come to men!
26. And Jesus went his way, and in the sacred groves of Cyrus, where the multitudes were met, he taught and healed the sick.
