Our Higher Self already has a Soul Mate, or Twin Ray, therefore we neither marry nor are given in marriage in the Higher Planes. When we attain the Resurrection and the Ascension we literally become one with our Soul which already has a Soul Mate therefore marriage is only for the lower Planes. The Ascended Master known as Beloved Pearl reveals: The Truth concerning marriage. In the Octaves of Light, there is no giving in marriage. There is only the activity of the two Rays, which came forth from the One Great Flame of Life. (The Voice of the I AM 1939 April p39)
In order to enter into the Higher Soul Plane, our male and female Souls, or Twin Rays, enter into the Holy Union with Their Higher Self or White Fire Body from which our Twin Rays are projected. Regarding this principle, the ECK Master Paul Twitchell reveals in his book The Tiger’s Fang: "No soul can enter into the worlds above the plane of Sat Lok [or the Soul Plane] without being complete within itself -without having both completed the cycle of balance and entering into the oneness with its own other self, and both gaining the traits of the other… and in the end becoming the male or original soul [symbolized by Adam] as God first put on earth. …The soul will come together again upon the fifth plane [or Soul Plane] …and there be rejoined before it becomes eligible for entering any of the higher worlds. …All souls must undergo this process even… Jesus… to become Gods themselves." (p84-87)
The middle figure in the Chart represents the "Holy Christ Self," who is also called the Higher Self or the Higher Mental Body.
Our Higher Self, Overself or Soul resides above us rather than within us as our individual spirit does. This Individualized Presence of God gives us Life via a stream of Light which flows down into our Crown Chakra at the top of our head. When this Holy Spirit descends into our physical body like a dove we become a Godman or Master because we are now one with God.

5There are two selfs; the higher and the lower self.
6The higher self is human spirit clothed with soul, made in the form of God.
7The lower self, the carnal self, the body of desires, is a reflexion of the higher self, distorted by the murky ethers of the flesh.
8The lower self is an illusion, and will pass away; the higher self is God in man, and will not pass away.
9The higher self is the embodiment of truth; the lower self is truth reversed, and so is falsehood manifest.
10The higher self is justice, mercy, love and right; the lower self is what the higher self is not.
11The lower self breeds hatred, slander, lewdness, murders, theft, and everything that harms; the higher self is mother of the virtues and the harmonies of life.
12The lower self is rich in promises, but poor in blessedness and peace; it offers pleasure, joy and satisfying gains; but gives unrest and misery and death.
13It gives men apples that are lovely to the eye and pleasant to the smell; their cores are full of bitterness and gall.
14If you would ask me what to study I would say, yourselfs; and when you well had studied them, and then would ask me what to study next, I would reply, yourselfs.
15He who knows well his lower self, knows the illusions of the world, knows of the things that pass away; and he who knows his higher self, knows God; knows well the things that cannot pass away.
16Thrice blessed is the man who has made purity and love his very own; he has been ransomed from the perils of the lower self and is himself his higher self.
