An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth represents the Law of the Harvest or the Law of Karma which basically rewards or punishes mankind according to their behaviour. In order to avoid unpleasant karmic consequences we must stop all negative thoughts, feelings, words and actions towards others including some kind of battle. Instead we should all become like suns of God radiating only the feelings and Light of Divine Love to all including one's enemies. In this way we become perfect even as our I AM Presence or Father which is in Heaven is perfect.
