¹¹ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. -Romans 8:11 Bible, King James Version 

Our Overself, or Higher Self, dwells above us rather than within us as our inner spirit does. Our inner spirit gives us our normal human state of consciousness. Because our Higher Self is the Christ, with a Divine State of Consciousness, when It enters permanently into the lower self we become a Christ with the ability to raise our physical body from the dead just as Jesus and all the Ascended Masters were able to do.

CHAPTER 8.

 

Elihu’s lessons to Jesus' mother in Egypt

¹Again Elihu met his pupils in the sacred grove and said,
⁵There are two selfs; the higher and the lower self.
⁶The higher self is human spirit clothed with soul, made in the form of God.
⁷The lower self, the carnal self, the body of desires, is a reflexion of the higher self, distorted by the murky ethers of the flesh.
⁸The lower self is an illusion, and will pass away; the higher self is God in man, and will not pass away.
⁹The higher self is the embodi­ment of truth; the lower self is truth reversed, and so is falsehood manifest.
¹⁰The higher self is justice, mercy, love and right; the lower self is what the higher self is not.
¹¹The lower self breeds hatred, slander, lewdness, murders, theft, and everything that harms; the higher self is mother of the virtues and the harmonies of life.
¹²The lower self is rich in prom­ises, but poor in blessedness and peace; it offers pleasure, joy and sat­isfying gains; but gives unrest and misery and death.
¹³It gives men apples that are lovely to the eye and pleasant to the smell; their cores are full of bit­terness and gall.
¹⁴If you would ask me what to study I would say, yourselfs; and when you well had studied them, and then would ask me what to study next, I would reply, your­selfs.
¹⁵He who knows well his lower self, knows the illusions of the world, knows of the things that pass away; and he who knows his higher self, knows God; knows well the things that cannot pass away.
¹⁶Thrice blessed is the man who has made purity and love his very own; he has been ransomed from the perils of the lower self and is himself his higher self.

The Ascended Masters teach us that; During the time Jesus’ body lay in the tomb, the faculties of His outer consciousness were drawn into his Higher Mental Body and from within It’s Light and Substance he poured the Flame of his own Life Stream from his Higher Mental Body’s Heart, Head and Hands into the flesh structure of his physical body and at the same time the Ascended Master known as the Great Divine Director also poured the Flame from his Heart and the Ascended Masters Octave of Light upon the flesh body of Jesus. The Great Divine Director drew the Cosmic Light Ray from his Octave and held that protected and undisturbed by the vibratory action of the atmosphere of this earth until all the Points of Light in the flesh body were drawn into Jesus’ Higher Mental Body. When that was completed Jesus came forth from the tomb on Easter Morning in his Higher Mental Body. (The Voice of the I AM 1941 November p22-23) The Higher Mental Body can be raised or lowered in vibration to appear physically or disappear up into the higher Planes.
